Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

On this exciting day of your safari, you’ll rise early to savor a delicious breakfast before embarking on a captivating drive to Murchison Falls National Park, making a noteworthy stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only protected area in Uganda where you can witness these endangered and magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Here, you will encounter impressive white rhinos and a variety of antelopes such as bushbucks, oribis, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by sightings of incredible species, including the Grey-Crowned Crane, Shoebill, African Fish Eagle, African Jacana, Marabou Stork, Red-Billed Ox-peckers, African Grey Hornbill, White Egret, among others. Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Morning Game drive – Launch cruise to the Bottom of the falls – Hike to Top of the falls

Today, after waking up, savor your morning breakfast and gear up for another thrilling adventure. On the game drive, you’ll come face-to-face with remarkable mammals like buffaloes, leopards, elephants, lions, bushbucks, giraffes, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, Jackson’s hartebeests, and Uganda kob, among others. After this exhilarating experience, you’ll return to your lodge for a delicious hot lunch and well-deserved relaxation.

After recharging in the afternoon, you’ll embark on a refreshing boat cruise upstream to the base of the Falls, lasting about three hours. During this scenic cruise, watch for magnificent Nile crocodiles basking under shady trees, herds of hippos lounging in the water, and elephants swimming gracefully along the riverbanks. If you’re a bird enthusiast, be prepared to spot unique species such as the shoebill stork, Malachite kingfisher, Abyssinian ground hornbill, black bee-eater, grey-crowned crane, marabou stork, Long-tailed nightjar, Senegal thick-knee, Black-headed lapwing, Long-toed lapwing, and Black-billed barbet, among many others. Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Kibale  Forest National Park and Visit the Bigodi Wetland and Community

On day 4 of your Safari, you’ll rise early for an exhilarating morning game drive before departing the park to head to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy a delightful lunch stop in Fort Portal, known as the Tourism City, before heading to the park’s Bigodi wetland for a captivating swamp walk. During this immersive experience, you will encounter an array of bird species, including the Black-crowned waxbill, White-spotted flufftail, White-breasted Negrofinch, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Black Bishop, Brown-crowned Tchagra, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-billed Barbet, Western Nicator, and the Superb sunbird, along with numerous stunning butterfly species. In Bigodi, you’ll also have the opportunity to witness the local community craft Gins from bananas, sample their creations, engage in craft making, and learn about coffee processing. After a rewarding day, return to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved overnight stay.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking – Evening Relaxation

On day 5 of the 14-Day Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Big Five adventure, gear up for an exhilarating experience after breakfast. Dress appropriately in a long-sleeved T-shirt, comfortable khaki or jean trousers, waterproof boots, a round cap, and a warm sweater or raincoat. This protects you from falling branches and any unexpected weather changes. Don’t forget to pack snacks and plenty of water in your backpack to keep you energized and hydrated during the trek, which typically lasts 1 to 5 hours, depending on the chimps’ location.

At the Kanyanchu visitor center, you’ll be assigned a chimpanzee family to search for, along with a knowledgeable ranger guide who will lead you through the lush rainforest. Along the way, you will encounter a variety of primate species, including black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Red colobuses, and Mantled guereza. You’ll also spot diverse bird species such as hornbills, flycatchers, black-billed turacos, kingfishers, cuckoos, crowned eagles, black-capped waxbills, purple-breasted sunbirds, and black-collared apalis, among others.

Once you locate the chimpanzees, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to spend one hour with them, observing their behaviors, social interactions, and communication methods. Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park  – Boat Cruise along the Kazinga channel

After waking up, you’ll kick off your day with a hearty and delicious breakfast before setting off to the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park, just a two-hour drive from Kibale Forest National Park. You’ll savor a delightful lunch at your lodge and well-deserved relaxation upon arrival. You’ll embark on a breathtaking boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. This cruise promises spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, including the majestic Rwenzori Mountain ranges. You’ll have the chance to witness impressive wildlife, such as herds of hippos frolicking in the water, elephants swimming and quenching their thirst, and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks. Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Experiential Lion and Leopard tracking – Evening to Night Game Drive

You’ll set out for an incredible lion and leopard tracking experience in the Kasenyi sector, where you’ll have the thrilling opportunity to drive off the beaten path. After this captivating experience, you’ll return to your lodge for a satisfying and delicious lunch.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park through the Ishasha sector

After breakfast on day 8, you will check out of your accommodation and head confidently towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your journey will take you through the Ishasha sector, where you’ll have the exciting opportunity to search for the majestic tree-climbing lions, along with a variety of other wildlife such as topis, aardvarks, elephants, monkeys, Uganda kobs, hippos, leopards, and waterbucks. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is approximately a four-hour drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park, and you will proceed to the Northern sector of Buhoma, which will also take around 5 hours. You’ll enjoy a delightful lunch stopover in Kihihi before continuing to the park for a well-deserved dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Dress appropriately for the day, remembering that the forest can be unpredictable, and there’s a chance of rain. Pack some snacks and mineral water to stay hydrated during your trek. Next, please proceed to the park’s headquarters for an informative briefing about the forest and its majestic mountain gorillas. You’ll be assigned a knowledgeable park ranger who will expertly guide you through the impenetrable forest and introduce you to a specific gorilla family. Your search for these gentle giants will begin, and depending on their location from the previous night, it may take anywhere from 1 to 7 hours.

Once you set your eyes on the gorillas, you’ll have the privilege of spending a maximum of 1 hour in their presence. Follow all rules and regulations to ensure a safe and respectful experience during this time. You will gain valuable insights into their way of life, feeding habits, how they care for their young, and their methods of communication. Engage with them naturally so they can become accustomed to human presence and take as many photos as possible to capture this unforgettable experience. As you search for the gorillas, watch for the diverse forest dwellers you may encounter, including various species of birds, primates, elephants, antelopes, and possibly even chimpanzees. All our Safari vehicles are Toyota Land-cruiser 4×4 with pop-up roofs. The vehicles are serviced and maintained to a very high standard before, during and after every safari. Paradise Adventure Vacations Ltd offering all-wheel drive safari vehicles suitable for off-road driving, which enable travelers to discover the magical areas of East Africa in a pleasant and reliable manner.

Our fleet consists of 4×4 Toyota Land cruisers with a hinged roof and skylights above the front seats. The hinged roof offers two main advantages: it provides shade without restricting the view, so that you can enjoy your safari even in the very sunny hours of the day. It also allows a 360-degree all-round view.
