Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Airport Pick up

On arrival at Uganda’s International airport-Entebbe, you will be received by our professional guide/driver, and then be transferred to Kampala-Uganda’s Capital city. The distance from Entebbe to Kampala is about 42 kilometers which is approximately 45 minutes drive for you dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Your guide will pick you from your hotel after a relaxed breakfast then drive to Murchison falls National Park. The park derives the name from the river which explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are crowded with hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and buffaloes. Thevegetation is characterized by Savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill. You will participate in hiking at the top of the falls and nature walks.

Day 3: Game drive and Launch cruise in Murchison falls

Today, you will be required to go for an early morning game drive which starts at 7.00 am. It is relatively cool before the sun rises too high on the Buligi area. Return to the Lodge for a full breakfast and Lunch. In the afternoon you will participate in a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls which is one of the highlights of your trips. Expect to see crocodiles and Hippos and abundant bird species including herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers and sometimes the rare shoe bill.

Day4: Drive to Kibale forest National Park

After breakfast at the Lodge, you will drive to Fort Portal. It will take you 7-hours to drive to one of the most beautiful towns in Uganda.Kibale forest is one of the forests in Africa with 13 species including the black and white colobus, blue monkey and grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkey, bush babies and pottos. The park is also a home of over 325 species of birds including the yellow spotted nicator, yellow rumped tinker bird, littlegreenbul, green breasted pitta, African pitta, crowned eagle and the black bee-eater. There are a number of impressive mammals including forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, duikers and bats.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking at Kibale forest park

You will be required to report at the park headquarters for briefing before going for the interesting game drive. The Park is one of the most attractive and stunning forests in Uganda. Kibale forest is certainly worth protecting as it is home to the largest number (in Uganda) of our closest living relative, the endangered chimpanzee, as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge, relax before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park together with Kyambura and Kigezi Wildlife Reserves form one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa. There are a series of two main lakes, George and Edward, as well as the connecting Kazinga Channel.Thousands of hippos populate these lake shorelines. Open savannah dotted with Acacia and Euphorbia trees provide habitat for elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs and big herds of buffaloes.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for an early morning game drive at 6.30am. This is the act of driving through the park for the purpose of viewing animals. It is best done in the morning and late afternoon hours.Some of the paths within the park pass through large mating grounds of great herds of Uganda kob.You will see hungry lions searching for the prey. While hot, large herds of elephants make their way down to the water. Bush bucks and Buffalo can be found on the Channeltrack and adjacent circuits. Return to the lodge for lunch cruise before going for a boat trip along the crowded banks of Kazinga Channel. This will give you a unique wildlife experience. Many buffaloes rest in the water while the big herds of elephant enjoy themselves drinking and playing along the Channel banks. Crocodiles have become a Common sight and occasionally leopards may be seen.

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi.

Today, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in south western Uganda, on the edge of the Western Rift Valley and is jointly shared byKanungu, Kabaleand Kisoro districts. The park occupies 331 square kilometers in size. The neighboring local people of the park are the Bakiga, Batwa and Bafumbira.

Day 9: Gorilla tracking

This is the outstanding forest in the park. The activity is too challenging, therefore ensure fitness. The tracking experience starts at 8.30 am local time and can last from a few hours to a whole day! You will enjoy yourself when you encounter these gorillas.

Day 10: Transfer to lake Bunyonyi

Today, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a nature walk. While on these trails, you will have the opportunities to see and learn about primates, many species of birds, butterflies, trees and other organisms.Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottages

 

Day11: Bird watching at Lake Bunyonyi

Today you will enjoy exciting activities at Lake Bunyonyi including swimming, bird watching, and hiking Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages.

 

Day12: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo

Depart from Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast and head for Lake Mburo National Park. Take a boat ride on the lake. You will have your dinner at MihingoLodge. The lodge is too peaceful and comfortable located just adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park. The Lodge has ten rooms which are built on wooden platforms and stilts, covered by a thatched roof.

Day 13: Lake Mburo to Kampala

Lake Mburo National Park contains an extensive area of wetland and harbors several species of mammals including zebras, impalas, elands, topi and buffaloes. It is a home of a number of bird species including the shareholder stork. Landscape with rolling grassy hills and peaceful lake shores has a varied mosaic of habitats: forest galleries, rich acacia tree valleys, seasonal and permanent swamps which all support a wealth of wildlife.

Day 14: Game drive & transfer back to Kampala

Go for an early morning game drive via the Zebra and Impala track. Expect to see Burchell’s zebra (Equusburchelli) with other species including bushbucks, oribi and reedbucks. The Lakeside track is designed to facilitate viewing of water plants and animals. Return back to Kampala then to Entebbe for your International Airport.
