4 Days Kigali Marriott Hotel: Experience the unparalleled adventure of a four-day stay at Kigali Marriott Hotel and One&Only Gorilla’s Nest. Here, you will explore Rwanda’s iconic parks—Volcanoes National Park and Akagera National Park. This journey promises an incredible blend of unique wildlife encounters and rich cultural experiences that are truly unforgettable.

Volcanoes National Park, also known as Parc National de Volcans (PNV), is one of Africa’s oldest parks, established in 1925 to protect the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Spanning approximately 162 square kilometers, it is situated in the Northern Province of Rwanda, within the breathtaking Great Virunga Volcano Conservation area. This park is a sanctuary for the majestic mountain gorillas. It hosts diverse wildlife, including buffaloes, forest elephants, bush pigs, forest hogs, spotted hyenas, and various primates such as golden monkeys and chimpanzees. With around 178 bird species, including 29 endemic to the Rwenzori mountains and the Virunga, this park is a haven for birdwatchers.

Akagera National Park is Rwanda’s largest national park, covering 1,122 square kilometers since its designation in 1934. It is home to over 13,500 large mammals, including the renowned Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes. You’ll also encounter a stunning variety of wildlife, such as Rothschild giraffes, Bruchnell’s zebras, waterbucks, and more. With more than 500 bird species inhabiting the park, including the striking shoebill stork and the graceful grey-crowned crane, Akagera National Park is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. Embark on this extraordinary adventure and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Rwanda’s wildlife and landscapes.

The second day of your 4 Days Kigali Marriott Hotel Safari begins with a warm and inviting breakfast, setting a tone of reflection for the day ahead. Afterward, you will embark on a thoughtful City Tour of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, known for its exceptional cleanliness and vibrant spirit. This modern city is the heart of Rwanda’s business, administration, and culture, beautifully nestled among the hills.
A key part of your journey will be a visit to the Genocide Memorial Site, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the profound and heartbreaking history of the Rwandan Genocide, which unfolded between 7th April and 15th July 1994. During those harrowing 100 days, more than 800,000 innocent lives, predominantly from the Tutsi community, as well as some moderate Hutu and Twa, were tragically lost at the hands of armed militias. While you wait for your fellow trekkers to arrive, you can immerse yourself in the warmth of Rwandan hospitality, enjoying traditional dances and sipping a comforting cup of hot Rwandan coffee.
Once the groups are formed, the trek begins, and you will embark on a heartwarming journey to visit the magnificent mountain gorillas. Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer back to Kigali International Airport or your Hotel

On the final day of your safari, you will enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for an informative briefing. Golden Monkeys are adorable and lively creatures that thrive in groups of around 80 individuals. While they face challenges from human activities, you’ll have a unique opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat. Unlike the Mountain Gorillas, these vibrant monkeys are comfortable with flash photography, adding to the excitement of your encounter.
Following the briefing, you’ll be paired with a knowledgeable park ranger who will accompany you on your trek. You will also be assigned a specific Golden Monkey group to track, and then you’ll venture into the lush jungle in search of these captivating animals.
Your exploration through the bamboo forests will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, as these monkeys reside at the foot of the majestic Volcano Mountains. Along the way, you’ll encounter diverse wildlife, including buffalo, forest elephants, bush pigs, duikers, forest hogs, spotted hyenas, and various bird species. If you’re fortunate, you may even catch a glimpse of Chimpanzees. Once you find the Golden Monkeys, you’ll be granted an hour to observe their fascinating behaviors, from how they feed and nurture their young to their unique communication methods.
Remember to capture this unforgettable experience with plenty of photographs! Later, you’ll embark on a drive out of Volcanoes National Park with your packed lunch before heading to Kigali International Airport for your flight or back to your hotel for one more night in beautiful Rwanda.
