These 4 Days Two, Times Gorilla Trekking in Uganda will give you Unforgettable Experiences with the Gentle Giants of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will trek these Mountain Gorillas on two different days with two separate Mountain Gorilla groups, enjoy a rich Cultural Encounter with the Batwa, who were the early inhabitants of the Impenetrable Forest, and then relax at the beautiful lake Bunyonyi known for its 29 Islands.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests and over 25000 years old. The park is home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, giving an excellent opportunity for gorilla trekking and habitat in the park’s sectors like Nkuringo, Buhoma, Ruhija, and Rushaga. The park harbors 120 mammal species like Elephants, duikers,  yellow-backed Duiker,  buffaloes, golden cats, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, black-fronted Duiker, clawless otters, side-striped jackals, civets, numerous bats, rodents 350 bird species like handsome francolin, purple sunbird, red headed blue bill, African blue cuckoo, regal sunbird, breasted sunbird, Rwenzori turaco, Shelley’s crimson among other bird species.

Lake Bunyonyi is located on the extreme border between Uganda and Rwanda. It is known for offering great rest to travelers due to its beautiful views. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda, with 29 different Islands, a fresh climate, and a clear view of the Virunga Mountains.

 

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

The 4 Days Two Times Gorilla Trekking in Uganda will start with a pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel by our Professional driver guide from Gorilla Page Safaris, who will meet and greet you; he will then brief you about your entire journey and thereafter embark on the 8 to 10 hours’ drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with a stopover at the Equator line at Kayabwe to participate in the water experience, take some coffee and pictures while standing with one leg on the Northern hemisphere and the other leg on the Southern hemisphere. En route to your destination, you will have a delicious lunch stopover in Igongo Cultural Centre or Ajip Motel in Mbarara City, and then continue with the drive to the park for a freshly prepared dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park – First Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Community Encounter

Awakening to the birds singing, you will begin Day 2 of your 4-Day Two-Times Gorilla Trekking adventure in Uganda with a lovely breakfast. Wear suitable clothing, including a long-sleeved shirt, khaki or jean trousers, a hat, and waterproof boots for protection against the Impenetrable Forest and the weather. Don’t forget to pack snacks and water for hydration during the trek.
Next, proceed to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the guidelines for interacting with mountain gorillas. You will be assigned a park ranger and introduced to the specific gorilla family to observe. Depending on the family’s location, the trek will last between 1 and 7 hours.
During the trek, you may encounter a variety of primates, including black-and-white colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. You will spend up to 1 hour with the mountain gorillas, observing their daily activities and interacting with them while your guide answers any questions. You may also be lucky enough to see other wildlife, like elephants and antelopes, along the way. Afterward, return to your accommodation for a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the Impenetrable Forest, to learn about their traditions and ancient hunting methods. You’ll experience traditional dances and hear their folk songs before returning to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park – Second Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

On this day of your Safari, you will have your breakfast, check out with your packed lunch boxes, carry some snacks in your backpacks, wear appropriate clothing for the day, and proceed to the park’s headquarters for a briefing about the Do’s and the Don’ts when you are with the Mountain Gorillas. You will be assigned another Mountain Gorilla Group and an armed ranger guide who will take you through the search for the Mountain Gorillas.
Upon finding them, you will spend one full hour in the presence of these Gentle Giants as you monitor their differences from the previous Mountain Gorilla group. Take as many pictures as possible and also engage with them so that they can get used to human presence. Later, you will return to your lodge for a mouth-watering lunch. Then, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, where you will have dinner and relax overnight as you reminisce about your trekking experience.

Day 4: Drive back to Entebbe International Airport or your hotel

On your final day of the Safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast. Afterward, you will start your journey back to Entebbe International Airport or spend another night in Kampala. This journey will take about 8-10 hours, with a hot lunch stopover at Igongo Cultural Center or Ajip Motel in Mbarara City. En route to your destination, you will stop at the Equator line at Kayabwe to have a cup of Coffee and buy some souvenirs to remind you about your time in Uganda.
