Mgahinga National Park is the sole location in Uganda that permits visitors to trek for golden monkeys and Silverback Gorillas. The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, featuring 76 species of mammals, including forest elephants, buffaloes, and giant forest hogs. Day 1: Arrival and Pick up from Entebbe International Airport – Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Day 2: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Community Encounter
After a delightful early breakfast, your driver will take you to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters for an informative briefing. Please provide your passport details beforehand to confirm your eligibility for the gorilla trek. Once the paperwork is complete, a UWA ranger will outline the gorilla trekking experience, including guidelines for your time with the gorillas. You will then head into the forest to search for these magnificent creatures. Mgahinga National Park is home to the Nyakagezi Family, the only habituated mountain gorilla group in the area. Once located, you will spend one hour observing these incredible gorillas before returning to the lodge for a restful overnight stay.

Day 3: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park – Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, you’ll transfer to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters. Choose between a full day of golden monkey habituation or a half-day trekking. Before heading into the forest, you’ll receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts of interacting with the monkeys. The habituation experience allows more interaction with researchers, while the trekking option offers a one-hour visit. After your adventures, return to your lodge to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.
