Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport or your Hotel – Drive to Kibale National Park

Day 1 of the 6 Days Uganda Safari Gorillas & Primates Trekking begins with a seamless pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. Our professional driver guide from Gorilla Page Safaris will greet you and provide a comprehensive briefing about your exciting journey. From there, we will embark on a scenic 5 to 6-hour drive to Uganda’s Kibale National Park, situated in the picturesque Western region of Uganda in the Kabarole district. As we travel, you’ll be captivated by the stunning landscapes that Uganda has to offer. We’ll make a refreshing lunch stop in Fort Portal Tourism City before continuing to Kibale National Park, where you can unwind, enjoy a delightful dinner, and relax for the night.

Day 2: Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Swamp and Community Visit – transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Start Day 2 of the 6-day Uganda Safari Gorillas & Primates Trekking with an early breakfast to prepare for the Chimpanzee Trekking experience. Dress in long sleeves, durable trousers, waterproof boots, and a warm sweater. Pack snacks and water for the trek, which lasts 1 to 5 hours. Head to the Kanyachu visitor center for a briefing and meet your assigned chimpanzee group and park ranger. Along the way, you may spot various primates like black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and birds such as hornbills and kingfishers. Once you find the chimpanzees, you’ll spend an hour observing their social behavior.
After lunch and relaxation at your accommodation, enjoy an afternoon swamp walk at Bigodi wetland, where you’ll see butterflies and birds like the black-crowned waxbill.  Wrap up your day with a community walk to sample banana Gins, explore craft making, and learn about coffee processing before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Experiential Lion and Leopard Tracking – Launch Cruise on Kazinga Channel – Evening to Night Game Drive

On Day 3 of your exhilarating 6 Days Uganda Safari focusing on Gorillas and Primates Trekking, you’ll begin your day with a hearty breakfast that sets the tone for an action-packed adventure. Prepare for an incredible experiential lion and leopard tracking expedition in the Kasenyi sector. You’ll have the unique opportunity to drive off the beaten path as you trace the majestic lions and leopards in the park. During this journey, you’ll gain valuable insights into their populations, behaviors, and lifestyles, enhancing your understanding of these magnificent creatures.

After this thrilling experience, return to your accommodation for a delicious hot lunch that will recharge you for the afternoon’s activities.

Later, prepare for a captivating boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, where breathtaking park views await you. Keep your eyes peeled for herds of hippos lounging in the water, elephants swimming gracefully, and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks. For the bird enthusiasts, this is your chance to spot a range of species, including the African fish eagle, yellow-billed stork, rare saddle-billed stork, grey-headed kingfisher, African skimmer, Nubian woodpecker, swamp flycatcher, grey-capped warbler, little bee-eater, and the elusive swamp nightjar, among others.

After a brief relaxation period, gear up for an evening game drive at Mweya Peninsula, followed by an exciting nightfall drive in the Kasenyi sector with an armed park ranger. Armed with spotlight torches, you’ll look for nocturnal creatures as they hunt their prey, including spotted hyenas, jackals, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and hippos grazing in the moonlight. Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Tree Climbing Lions Tracking – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Batwa Experience

On Day 4 of your unforgettable six-day Uganda Safari Gorillas and Primates Trekking, you will begin the day with an energizing breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. You’ll then set out for the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park just south of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive to the northern sector of Buhoma takes approximately five hours and promises stunning scenery along the way.

As you journey through the Ishasha sector, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to search for the famous tree-climbing lions and encounter a variety of wildlife, including Topis, Aardvarks, lions, elephants, monkeys, Uganda Kobs, hippos, leopards, and waterbucks. A lunch stop in Kihihi will refuel your energy before you continue to Bwindi.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the ancient Impenetrable Forest before it became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. You’ll gain valuable insights into their traditional way of life, including their ancient hunting practices and cultural legends. Experience the vibrant atmosphere as you watch a Batwa homestead dance and listen to their folk songs. Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Gorilla Trekking – And transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On Day 5 of your unforgettable six-day Uganda Safari focusing on Gorillas and primates Trekking, you’ll dedicate the entire day to the remarkable experience of locating the majestic Apes of the Impenetrable Forest. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your adventure, and dress appropriately for the occasion: wear a long-sleeved shirt, sturdy khaki or jean trousers, waterproof boots, and a round cap. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and plenty of water to stay refreshed throughout the trek.

You will then head to the park’s headquarters, where an essential briefing will prepare you for the adventure ahead, covering important Do’s and Don’ts for interacting with the mountain gorillas. A knowledgeable park ranger will be assigned to you, guiding you through the forest and ensuring a safe and enriching experience. The trek to find the gorillas typically lasts between 1 to 5 hours, depending on their location, and along the way, you’ll encounter fascinating primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and blue monkeys, as well as various bird species such as the handsome francolin, Rwenzori turaco, and regal sunbird.

Our fleet consists of 4×4 Toyota Land cruisers with a hinged roof and skylights above the front seats. The hinged roof offers two main advantages: it provides shade without restricting the view, so that you can enjoy your safari even in the very sunny hours of the day. It also allows a 360-degree all-round view.
