Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Swamp and Community Visit
Start Day 4 of the 7 Days Uganda Safari with a delicious, hearty breakfast, and prepare for an unforgettable Chimpanzee Trekking experience. Dress appropriately for the adventure ahead with a long-sleeved shirt, durable khaki or jeans, waterproof boots, a round cap, and a heavy sweater to protect yourself from tree branches and unpredictable weather. Don’t forget to pack snacks and plenty of drinking water to keep yourself hydrated during the trek, which may take 1 to 5 hours, depending on the chimpanzees’ location.
First, head to the Kanyachu Visitor Center, where you will receive a comprehensive briefing on the park’s Do’s and Don’ts. You’ll be assigned to a chimpanzee group to track and paired with a knowledgeable park ranger who will guide you throughout the trek.
As you journey through the lush forest, prepare to encounter a variety of fascinating primates, including black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, Olive baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red colobuses, and mantled guereza.
